Champaign, OH:  Monday Morning

I’ll be there if you want me to
No one else that could ever do
Got to get some peace in my mind…
(Fleetwood Mac)

Hello, Monday morning!!

Just a little song lyric to put some groove into your morning, and, well, it is Monday, this little local market always puts some peace in my mind, and, finally…I am coming off of a mini reunion weekend with my group of besties from high school. A 42nd mini weekend of too much fun, friendship, laughter, cocktails, memories, and going back to where it all began, taking back that town, and then leaving it, and our group, behind, again, knowing we are all there if one of us needs the group to be there. Just like this market…we are always here for you…

So, with all of the love, and laughter that I am coming away with…

Monday morning, you sure look fine…

ALSO…Please check out the produce that is flooding the market from JCGrowers!!!!!

It’s seasonal, it’s local, and it’s all the best!!!!!

XOXO,
Cosmic Pam

Berea Gardens:  Market news

Hi Friends,

Lynnita and I are blessed to have three vehicles, a car for each of us and my old Dodge pickup to use for the big chores. Last week they all came up lame, so this week I am taking off my grower cap and putting on my mechanic and welder’s cap. That said, I will not be taking pre-orders this week, but we will have lots (and lots) of produce for the market this week. I have plenty of tomatoes, eggplant, celery and peppers for everyone and may have a few of our first cantaloupes too. The Stoned Goat Homestead folks have chicken available this week. Please pre-order from them in the next day or so at their Facebook page. We have another beef grower that expects to be at our market on August 10. I will announce it for certain next week. Enjoy the rain and come out to see us Wednesday!

Blessings,
Bob & Lynnita

Our goats are managed as naturally as possible and free range on untreated pasture, during the day, under careful watch of our two livestock guardian dogs. At Windy Bluff Farm all of our Nigerian Dwarf Goats are Dam raised and handled multiple times a day. Our goal is to breed and raise quality goats that exceed in health, conformation, milking abilities and friendliness; whether you are wanting to show, have a few backyard milkers, start a small herd or just have a few pet companion goats.

Side NOTE: Flying S Farms LOVES our Light Ground Roast!

Dogwood Valley Greenhouse:

They say about perennial plants:
“First year they sleep,
Second year they creep,
Third year they leap!”

Most of the plants you have purchased from Dogwood Valley Greenhouse, particularly in early spring, have been early second year perennials. They are beginning to creep, meaning slow and steady growth, and flowering for their first season, after sleeping in the greenhouse last year and growing strong root systems. But I have a good stock of many of my perennials right now, and would like to offer these larger pants to you, after a second season of growth, for the same prices as the younger plants. Planted now and on into fall, they will put down strong root systems and be ready to leap into full growth and bloom for you next spring! Check through my perennial listings and see what you can use as fill-ins in bare places in your gardens.

I also have a good stock of full, healthy herb plants to add for culinary or medicinal use. I have one of the largest selections of herb plants in middle Tennessee. There is no need to travel to Nashville or Huntsville for those less common herb plants! And my plants are grown and nurtured right here in Coffee County, not in another state and shipped in to the big box store.

If you don’t have a place for herb plants, but you still want a stock of fresh herbs for culinary or medicinal use, please check out my Fresh Cut Herbs.

Periwinkle and Pine:

We are excited to showcase our new beautiful Lavender and Peony wreath, and our pretty summer Periwinkle Berry and Rose wreath. Every wreath in our shop is lovingly handmade.

Trinity Rose Micro Dairy:

We are happy to offer raw cows milk from our Jersey cow. “Zoe” is tested A2 / A2 protein which may be easier for people with milk allergies to digest. Our girls are on pasture full time and get a non-GMO & organic mix of grain while being milked. All milk sold as labeled for pet consumption only as per Tennessee State law.

Calico Farm:

Have you tried our homemade vanilla extract? It’s made with organic Madagascar vanilla beans & aged a minimum of 2 months (usually somewhere between 4-6 months) so you get deliciously rich vanilla flavor with everything you add it to. Sold in 4 oz bottles.

New this week, try our organic dye-free sprinkle cookies, available in 6-packs. These super-buttery soft cookies are dairy-free & are absolutely loved by kids & adults alike, without the yucky artificial food colors in regular sprinkles.

We also have 2 varieties of gluten-free cookies this week: chocolate crinkles & oatmeal peanut butter chocolate chip. Both are also organic & dairy-free, because, well, you know how we roll!

NashPhilly:

So we will be on vacation this week but will be back the following weekend.
We also wanted to say thank you to all the customers that support us and also support this farmers market.

Arrington Bread Co:

We make our sourdough with simple, quality ingredients and our 88-year-old sourdough starter, which we named Josh Dough-ban because we raise him uuuuuup!

We offer flavors like jalapeño cheddar, Parmesan garlic, strawberry cheesecake, and of course our classic plain! Plus many more. We look forward to baking for you!

Safe and Sound Soap Co.

I’m so excited to share that I’ve added several new products over the past few weeks! First of all is my Foaming Hand Soaps. These are ultra moisturizing and have an amazing lather! They come in several different scents, as well as an unscented option. You can even purchase refill packs to refill the pump once the soap is completely used.

My other new product is my Room + Linen Sprays. I tweaked my original recipe and now these room sprays are better than ever and last longer! They also come in several new scents : Laundry Day, Sea Breeze, and Honeysuckle Breeze, as well as three essential oil scents, Orange Bergamot, Lavender, and Lemon Eucalyptus.
I also added refill packs for my cleaning sprays.

However if you have an empty spray bottle at home you can purchase the pack and fill up your own bottle! The refill packs contain 8 ounces of my special cleaning formula. It is made with sugar cane alcohol and Castile soap, gentle on surfaces and hard on germs. This cleaning solution kills 99% of bacteria so it’s the perfect multi-purpose spray for your home!

Several of our Meat Producers are offering sales, be sure to check them out.

Flying S Farms:

Several great vegetables to offer this week and our Chickens have finally decided to go back to work, this past week atleast! Weather plays a big factor in how they lay their beautiful Brown Eggs. Eggs available by the Dozen or in a 3 carton offer. Sour Dough Bread this week plain or fresh ground wheat. Unfortunately no sweet breads, set back is due to Ben’s changing treatment schedules!

Martin's Farmstand:  Pickling Season

Pickling season is here! We currently have pickling supplies in stock. Including pickling cucumbers, green and yellow beans, beets and dill heads. Hot peppers are also starting to make an appearance on the stand for anyone looking to add some heat to the years pickled products. We also have sweet corn available! It is a deliciously sweet corn that we are excited to have on the stand.
The Martin and Greenwood family harvested the years garlic and are in the process of drying and clipping garlic. It was an abundant harvest and there is lots of garlic for purchase and storage once it cures.
The Martin family will be absent from the farm the next couple of weeks as they enjoy a much deserved family vacation. The Greenwoods will have their first taste of running the farm solo with support from family and friends. We look forward to seeing you all in the coming days.
