Berea Gardens:  Market Announcement

Dear Friends,

We are 12 weeks into our 33 week market season and the consensus from our vendors is that we should take a break for this week and enjoy the 4th Holiday with the rest of you. We will not be doing a market this Wednesday, the 3rd, but will reopen on Wednesday the 10th with the addition of many of the summer items we have been looking forward to. I will email again next Sunday with the availability of eggplant, green beans, summer squash, and tomatoes to go along with the items we have posted in the last couple of weeks. We join you in celebrating this wonderful Nation this week.

Blessings,
Bob & Lynnita

Martin's Farmstand:  U-pick Strawberries Tommorow Last Picking

The berry patches will be open for u-pick tommorow morning (June 29) starting at 7 AM. Yes we are still open even if it is raining. This is the last regular u-pick strawberry picking for this year. I just walked through the fields; there are still berries left especially in the later areas. Expect to work fairly hard as you will need to hunt for them. I personally think the last small berries of the season are really rich and sweet in a differant way then the main crop is. In the afternoon we will be having the strawberry festival here at the stand. There will be angel food cake, starwberry soda, hot dogs, games and fellowship. This also goes on even if it is raining (mostly inside if necessary)
Next week the strawberry fields will be open for half price gleaning status during normal stand hours (Tuesday- Saturday 10 AM to 6 PM) I will post more details about raspberry picking next week. Daniel
