Wholesome Harvest Farm WV:  Wholesome Harvest Farm 2024 Season is Starting

Good morning, just wanted to let you know that we are back with lots of great veggies this year!

We have tomatoes, cucumbers, squash, eggplant, kale, cherry tomatoes, herbs, and whole wheat and gluten free bread.

This year we aren’t taking online orders, but we are selling our veggies each Wednesday at our farm stand at 211 N Lewis St in Glenville WV, from 11:30 am – 5 pm.

So come get some delicious fresh vegetables. We’re looking forward to seeing you at the farm stand. ????

Frontier Farms:  Looks like a rain free Saturday, finally

we need the rain but i’m looking froward to finally having a rain free saturday.

Grumpy Goat:  Honey, kreppels, kohlrabi …. Oh my!

We have a great week ahead of us. We took the spring honey off – somewhere around 175lbs – the girls did us proud! We will have at least some of it bottled and in the store starting on Friday!!! We might have sampled it a few times and it is delicious.

Also it is the 2nd Tuesday of June coming up which means Kreppel Time! These were so good last month – my particular favorite – the hazelnut though you really can’t go wrong with any of them. Just like last time kreppels will have to be preordered by going directly to Jenn’s site: https://www.hotplate.com/jennsbackstube/e8c23f97-f06f-40a3-ba50-5d9e73211224
You will have to order between Sunday night and early Tuesday Morning and you will be able to pick up in the store anytime after 3.

Other goodies looking to don the shelves of the store this week include: kohlrabi, beets, turnips, garlic scapes, basil, dill, sage, mint, oregano, kale, chard, beet greens,. I’m probably forgetting something so just come into the store and see for yourself!

And lastly, this is just a heads up that the farm store will be closed on Friday the 14th and Tuesday the 18th. We’ll be thinking of you all as were sipping G+Ts ocean side!

************
Several of our meat Growers still have Specials on their different cuts of meats.
It’s grilling time, They have it for you!

Foster Bakery: New to our Market, highly recommended by NashPhilly.
Do you like bread? We now have Plain White or Wheat Bread.

Enjoy this staple guilt-free by buying a plain white or whole wheat loaf from me. Unlike many commercial bakeries that use bromated/carcinogenic ingredients, I use simple and minimally processed ingredients to make a delicious and filling bread. Bread made from whole wheat flour contains greater amounts of protein, fiber, and vitamins. 2-3 slices meets 15% of your daily iron needs and over a quarter of the recommended fiber intake. Whole wheat bread is also a great food to aid weight loss (ask me: I lost 20 pounds after I started making this bread)! This loaf makes approximately 10-12 slices + 2 endpieces. Slice as you go for best quality (unless if you plan to freeze it). Since my bread doesn’t contain any preservatives, it’s best to consume or freeze within 3-4 days of picking up. The bags are freezer friendly.

NashPhilly: Several prepared items in the Soup, Seasonal Side Dishes and Noodles, Pasta, Italian Sauces Category. Perfect for your upcoming Mother’s Day meal or this weeks meals.

Also enjoy our newly ‘salads’ during the hot summer months along with our meals and side dishes.

Pinky’s Micro’s:
New Spring blend of power packed microgreens…Romaine, Golden Leeks, Lemon Basil and Red Panda Sorrell.
Also check out our other Micro’s – Basic Salad Mix, Broccoli, Cilantro, Pea, Radish, Red Amaranth, Sunflower and Wheat Grass Shots.

Quarter Spring Farm: has all the affordable luxury that you need this spring. From our moisturizing soaps to our delicious meats and eggs, we have all the goodies to pamper you. You work hard, so treat yourself to an incredible dining experience with our lamb or chicken. It’s healthier and tastier than conventionally grown meats, and better for the planet, too. Our amazing goat milk soaps and lotions will leave your skin feeling like you just dropped 2 grand at a high end spa. You deserve nice things, so let us provide them to you.

Kumaika Coffee:
If you have not started your morning with our Coffee, you are missing out! We have Dark, Medium and Light Roasted Beans. We are a Certified USDA Organic Product provider. We have a small coffee roaster business. We specialize in roasting and crafting small batches of organic, high altitude single origin and fair trade coffee beans. We bring the coffee beans directly from Nicaragua and roast small batches in our home located in Lascassas TN. We have Beans and/or Ground Coffee available or can’t decide order our Sampler of all 3.

Dogwood Valley Greenhouse: Several items ready to plant in cooler weather. Herbs, Ferns, Hosta and Shrubs.

Flying S Farms: We’ve added several items of Spring/Summer Produce, along with our delicious Sour Dough Breads, along with Brownies, Biscuits, Various Friendship Breads. Strawberry Jam is back in stock and more jams soon to be on the market again.

Look forward seeing you Wednesday, June 5th when you pickup your orders.

The market is open and there’s lots of goodness for you to try. Cucumber, beans and squash arein and those tomatoes are looming in the coming weeks!
Don’t you love this time of year where fresh produce grazes our tables?!
Peaches are still coming in so I see another week of those in the stand.
As always, I welcome container returns and will give credits for future orders. I specifically need the Ball jars and black plastic salad containers. If I miss a bag of your returns, just note “returned containers” on your order.
